Here are my transcripts and summaries of talks from Jordan Peterson. They aren’t exactly word for word transcripts in most cases but the general idea should be conveyed. I plan to update this page a lot.

Jordan Peterson – How To Stop Failing And Become Really Successful – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GzlxTKxCFg (FIND REAL SOURCE)
“The reason people don’t get what they want is they don’t figure out what they want.”
“Why do people not get what they want, they don’t try.”
* “Imagine you were taking care of yourself like you were someone you were actually trying to care for. I’m caring for this person, I want their life to go as well as possible. What would their life have to be like for that to be the case.”
“You have to figure out what would be good for you and aim for it. When people figure out what would be good for them and go after it, they get it.”
“The reason that a lot of people fail is because they don’t set up the critera for success.”
“The probability you will stumble onto success is zero.”
“If you actually want something, you can have it.”
“You reorientate your life in every possible way to make the probability that it will occur as certain as possible.”
“Maybe all you have to do is ask. You have to be deadly serious about it and take stock in yourself.”
* “Ask yourself what remarkable stupid things am I doing on a regular basis to screw up my life.”
“What made socrates different was that he consulted himself, he asked himself how he should conduct himself in the world and did it. He didn’t try to force a solution. I’m going to manifest my way in the best possible way.”
“What would happen if you consulted yourself for the best possible outcome for you? You might get an answer”

Do you want to be a failure? Some people prefer the not having to be as responsible and accept being a failure. Easier short term but ignores the long term. They enjoy the apparent “freedom” of not having to think things through but it ignores the long term.”

Jordan Peterson – 2017 Maps of Meaning 10: Genesis and the Buddha – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XtEZvLo-Sc
What makes a KING? Vision, Speech, and willingness to explore/attack the unknown.
!!HUGE!! 48:05 – https://youtu.be/7XtEZvLo-Sc?t=2885
“What do you want to be king of? How about your heroic your willingness to encounter the unknown and articulate it and share it with people. There is no nobler vision than that.”
38:48 (was 2:50) – https://youtu.be/7XtEZvLo-Sc?t=2326 “If you are at the bottom everything overwhelms you because you are damn near dead. Everything should overwhelm you because you have no extra resources. Any more threat and you’re sunk so you become extremely sensitive to negative emotion and perhaps become impulsive.”
As you go up the status you become less sensitive and you can focus more on a long term future.
What can you do to move up dominance heirarchys then?
6:00 Go into your imagination. You find the great architypes that guide human nature.
46:40 Who should lead, what should rule. What should be at the top. Speech and vision, and the willingness to confront the terrible unknown.
47:20 Marduk has eyes all around his head. He speaks magic words. He goes off to fight the tihamat, the dragon of chaos. The reptilian predator that lurks in the unknown.

You have to make sacrifices. You have to sacrifice what is currently most valuable to you that is stopping you. It is certainly the “worst of you”.

Jordan Peterson Most Valuable Things Everyone Should Know
https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-most-valuable-things-everyone-should-know
Tell the truth.
Do not do things that you hate.
Act so that you can tell the truth about how you act.
Pursue what is meaningful, not what is expedient.
If you have to choose, be the one who does things, instead of the one who is seen to do things.
Pay attention.
Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you need to know. Listen to
them hard enough so that they will share it with you.
Plan and work diligently to maintain the romance in your relationships.
Be careful who you share good news with.
Be careful who you share bad news with.
Make at least one thing better every single place you go.
Imagine who you could be, and then aim single-mindedly at that.
Do not allow yourself to become arrogant or resentful.
Try to make one room in your house as beautiful as possible.
Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.
Work as hard as you possibly can on at least one thing and see what happens.
If old memories still make you cry, write them down carefully and completely.
Maintain your connections with people.
Do not carelessly denigrate social institutions or artistic achievement.
Treat yourself as if you were someone that you are responsible for helping.
Ask someone to do you a small favour, so that he or she can ask you to do one in the future.
Make friends with people who want the best for you.
Do not try to rescue someone who does not want to be rescued, and be very careful about
rescuing someone who does.
Nothing well done is insignificant.
Set your house in perfect order before you criticize the world.
Dress like the person you want to be.
Be precise in your speech.
Stand up straight with your shoulders back.
Don’t avoid something frightening if it stands in your way — and don’t do unnecessarily
dangerous things.
Do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them.
Do not transform your wife into a maid.
Do not hide unwanted things in the fog.
Notice that opportunity lurks where responsibility has been abdicated.
Read something written by someone great.
Pet a cat when you encounter one on the street.
Do not bother children when they are skateboarding.
Don’t let bullies get away with it.
Write a letter to the government if you see something that needs fixing — and propose a solution.
Remember that what you do not yet know is more important than what you already know.
Be grateful in spite of your suffering.

REVIEW MORE – REALLY GOOD
Talking about Jung and knowing your story otherwise you get a bit part in someone else’s and you might not like it.
Emotions and thoughts pull you every which way unless there is a King at the top directing/controling things (Reminds me of what he said about being a King – Vision, Speech, and willingness to confront the unknown)
In three years, what would you want your story to look like?
(In this one??) – The importance of goals and it creating happiness and purpose vs no goals.

Jordan Peterson – https://www.quora.com/Why-should-one-be-honest-and-do-good-when-they-are-the-most-exploited-people
Why should one be honest and do good when they are the most exploited people?
You’re assuming that honesty and goodness sets you up for exploitation. If you are truly honest and good (rather than naive, which people often mistake for virtuous) then you have far more power than someone who is dishonest and bad. People will be able to trust you, so you can have genuinely valuable relationships and partnerships. People will seek you out for companionship and advice. Your head will remain clear, because you’re not filling it with garbage.

Jordan Peterson –
Both the very first part about how to live life and then the “job” part are really good. The part right after it is what I first came across, and it is about when to try to salvage a relationship and when to end it. ?https://youtu.be/NOzjfqO6-K8?t=2245

Jordan Peterson Misc Ideas Summary –
Be the King/Leader of your thoughts. And what should be King? The part of your mind that observes and learns.
What makes a good King? Vision, Speech, and willingness to face the unknown.
With speech, speak the truth. It will make you enemies but it is far better than not speaking truth or not speaking at all.
